Welcome to the Slow Food Dorset website. We are part of the international not-for-profit Slow Food movement that promotes and supports local food networks throughout the world, and is slowly but surely changing the way we eat.
Slow Food Dorset is just one of more than fifty local groups set up all over the UK. The groups form the backbone of the movement and are run by dedicated volunteers.
If you are interested in local food culture and care about the unsung heroes who produce our food, why not come to one of our events or, better still, join us?
The local groups come under the umbrella of national office, Slow Food UK, based in London. To find out more, take a look at www.slowfood.org.uk. For a global picture of what’s going on, see Slow Food International www.slowfood.com. You’ll find plenty of things to inspire you.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
The events team have been hard at work behind the scenes. We’ve already had some some great visits in 2012, like a day out with the pigs at Chalk Newton Farm and a Seashore Forage with botanist Mark Feaver. To see our trip to a buffalo farm later this year, and more…
Take a look at Upcoming Events, diary in hand.
